With this collection Simons manages to transport us from a chilly Winter to a ravishing Spring with his perfectly constructed pieces.

Once again a runway show that seems taken out of a fairy tale.

Dior's New Look by Raf Simons

Acabada de voltar das minhas férias não pude deixar de passar por cá e partilhar convosco um momento muito esperado no mundo da moda, o primeiro desfile de Raf Simons para Dior.
Sei que muitos de vocês já o viram e reviram mas tendo em conta a importância deste no mundo da moda e da haute couture não podia deixar de o partilhar.
Todos estavam ansiosos por saber qual iria ser o resultado da união de Simons e Dior, e na minha opinião, este dificilmente poderia ser melhor.
Raf Simons surgiu como uma lufada de ar fresco com a sua simplicidade e extrema elegância, depois dos desfiles "over the top" da era de Galliano em que reinavam os vestidos excessivos e extravagantes.
Resgatando o espírito e a silhueta do New Look que imortalizou Christian Dior, Simons aproximou o haute couture da mulher moderna de uma forma brilhante.

Agora vou-me entreter a ver as novidades nos vossos blogues e depois partilho convosco algumas fotografias da minha estadia na Republica Dominicana.

Just came back from my vacations and I couldn't resist coming here and share with you a much anticipated moment on the fashion world, Raf Simon's debut show for Dior.
I know many of you must have already seen it over and over again, but taking into account its importance on the fashion and haute couture world, I couldn't help but share it.
Everyone was waiting to know what would result from Simons and Dior's union, and in my opinion, it couldn't have been better.
Raf Simons appeared as a breath of fresh air with is simplicity and absolute elegance, after the over the top runway shows from the Galliano era when the extravagant and excessive dresses reigned.
Bringing back Christian Dior's New Look spirit and silhouette, Simons was able to bring haute couture closer to the modern womem in a brilliant way.

Now I'm going to see all the news in your blogs and later I'll share with you some photos from my brief stay in the Dominican Republic.

 

Haute Couture even in the Streets

Chegam hoje ao fim os desfiles de Alta Costura em Paris que se antecipam às grandes Semanas da Moda de Ready To Wear, que começam no inicio de Fevereiro com a New York Fashion Week de dia 9 a 16.
Como sempre os desfiles não se dão só dentro dos recintos mas também fora deles, na ruas de Paris, neste caso.
Trendsetters e personalidades da moda entre outros juntam-se em Paris para assistir aos mais exclusivos desfiles enquanto se deixam fotografar na últimas tendências de streetstyle, umas mais arriscadas que outras.
Eu espero sempre, com grande curiosidade, por estas alturas do ano, em que todos saem à rua como se fosse a última oportunidade de mostrarem o que valem e do que são capazes através dos seus looks, pensados ao pormenor.
Acho que às vezes faltava um pouco dessa atitude no dia a dia de todos, não em exagero claro, ninguém se veste todos os dias como se fosse para uma Fashion Week, mas um pouco de cuidado nunca fez mal a ninguém, e por vezes olho à minha volta e  vejo um grande desmazelo na nossa sociedade.
Espero que se inspirem.

 Today is the last day of the Haute Couture runway shows in Paris which anticipate the major RTW Fashion Weeks, that will start at the beginning of February with the New York Fashion Week (9 to 16).
As always the runway shows aren't just on the inside but also outside, on the streets of Paris, in this case.
Trendsetters and fashion personalities among others are reunited in Paris to watch the most exclusive fashion shows while being photographed with the latest streetstyle trends, ones bolder than others.
I always look forward, with curiosity, for these times of the year, where everyone goes out like it's their last chance to show what they're worth and capable of through their looks ans outfits, thought to the most tiny detail.
I think sometimes that  attitude is lacking on everyone's day to day routine, not on an exaggerated way of course, no one dresses every day like they were going to a Fashion Week, but a little care never hurts, and sometimes I look around and I see such carelessness and sloppiness in our society.
