PARIS . A WALK THROUGH CHAMPS ELYSÉES

Todas as atenções estão viradas para Londres neste momento, mas as minhas continuam concentradas em Paris.
Passado uma longa semana de trabalho consegui finalmente sentar-me e relembrar os bons momentos passados nesta cidade. As fotografias neste post são bastantes, mas simplesmente não conseguia reduzir mais a seleção, com tantos lugares maravilhosos que registei.


All the attention is now focused in London, but mine are still very much in Paris.
After a long and exhaustive week at work I finally managed to sit down and go down memory lane to some of many good moments I spent in this city. There are many photos in this post, I kept it very visual, I simply couldn't narrow down the selection with so many wonderful places I photographed.

PARIS DAY 1 . LET'S START WITH TOUR EIFFEL

C'est fini.

Já estou de volta de Paris e sem dúvida com bastantes saudades daqueles cenários maravilhosos.

No primeiro dia chegamos por volta da hora de almoço e começamos com a tipica mas indispensável visita à Torre Eiffel, com uma subida ao topo. Paisagens de perder a vista, mas deixo um conselho a quem ainda não tiver visitado e estiver a pensar ir: visitem a Torre Eiffel e subam à noite, têm uma vista melhor. 

Depois de um merecido descanso nos jardins de Champs de Mars continuamos a visita pelo Musée de l'Armée e Hotel des Invalides até à ponte mais bonita da cidade, a Pont Alexandre III, sempre a pé, que é a melhor forma de visitar, até porque o metro de Paris é medonho (desde os cheiros ao estado de conservação).

I'm back from Paris and without a doubt already missing those stunning sceneries.

On the first day we arrived around luch time and immediately started with a typical yet mandatory visit to the Eiffel Tower, with a ride to the top. Sceneries that took my breath away , but here's an advice for those of you who never visited and are considering it: visit the Eiffel Tower and especially go to the top at nigh, the views are far better.

After a well deserved rest on the Champs de Mars gardens we resumed our visit through Musée de l'Armée and the Invalides Hotel, and the most beautiful bridge in the city, the Alexandre III bridge, always on foot, which is the best way to really visit a place, even because the Paris subway is just awful (from the smell to the conservation).

Já ao final da tarde fomos à zona de Montmartre, ver o famoso Moulin Rouge, subir até ao Sacré Coeur e passear pelas pequenas ruas cheias de cafés, lojas, restaurantes e pintores.
Ver as pessoas reunirem-se ao final do dia e tomarem um copo e dividirem uma refeição ligeira, os cafés repletos de locais e turistas.

Acabamos por jantar por ali e ver o anoitecer numa zona que eu considero ser das mais bonitas de Paris.

Later in the afternoon we went to Montmartre, to see the famous Moulin Rouge, go to the Sacré Coeur and take a stroll through the small streets filled with cafes, stores, restaurants and artists.

See the people come together at the end of the day and have a glass and share a light meal, the cafes full with locals and tourists.

We ended up dining there, watching the night fall on one of the most beautiful areas in Paris in my opinion.

Ultimamente as viagens em trabalho têm vindo a aumentar, uns dias aqui, uns dias ali, e é aí que surge um possível pesadelo para muitas de nós, fazer a mala!

Se fazer a mala para uma semana de férias já é dificil, na minha opinião, bem mais complicado é quando é para uma viagem de 2 ou 3 dias em trabalho.
Eu normalmente sou a verdadeira mulher no que toca a escolher o que quero levar. O que é que isto significa? Levar tudo o que cabe e que não cabe dentro da mala. Mas neste caso há que ser prática, porque pior do que fazer a mala é mesmo carregá-la, principalmente viajando sozinha.

Aproveitando que hoje tive mais uma viagem de 3 dias, desta vez para Lisboa, tirei algumas fotografias ao que levo na minha mala (só uma e tamanho aprovado pela ryanair!)

ENG. Lately work trips have become more frequent, some days here and some there, and there comes something that can be a potential nightmare for many of us, packing!

If packing for a week on holidays can be tricky, for me, much more complicated is when it’s a 2 day trip for work.
I’m usually the biggest cliché there is when it comes to choose what to take. What does this mean? Taking everything I can put in the bag and even what I can’t. But in this case I have to be practical because the problem with overpacking is that then I have to carry all the luggage around and that’s even worse than packing, especially when traveling alone.

Swimsuit Operation with Oysho

Para quem achava que este post era sobre fatos de banho ou biquínis deixo-vos já o aviso que não é.

Sim, é sobre a chegada do Verão, da época de praia mas principalmente sobre o que vem antes disso, a época da chamada “Operação Biquini”. A altura do ano em que a principal missão das mulheres é ficar em forma para o Verão, altura em que os ginásios são invadidos para perdermos aqueles quilhinhos a mais que ganhamos durante este interminável Inverno.

For those of you who thought this post was about swimsuits and bikinis I warn you that it is not!

Yes, it’s about the summer arrival, the beach season but mostly what comes before that, the season of the so-called “Swimsuit Operation”. That time of the year when every woman’s (or almost) mission is to stay fit for Summer, the time when gyms are invaded so we can loose those extra few pounds we gained during this never-ending Winter.

Here’s where Oysho comes and sweeps us away with their amazing gymwear collection.

I must confess that usually it pains me to spend money on gym clothes, those old t-shirts have to be useful for something, right? The Oscar Night

The Great Gatsby by Miuccia Prada

The Great Gatsby é, sem dúvida, um dos filmes mais esperados do ano.

Esta adaptação de Baz Luhrmann do famoso romance de F. Scott Fitzgerald cada vez dá mais que falar e deixa todos ansiosos pela sua estreia em Maio deste ano.

Uma das razões para tão grande expectativa é o guarda-roupa de luxo criado para esta longa-metragem. Para quem não sabe, Miuccia Prada uniu-se a Catherine Martin, a responsável de guarda-roupa do filme, para criar 40 looks inspirados em criações passadas da Prada e Miu Miu.

Miuccia Prada decidiu aguçar-nos um bocadinho mais o apetite e revelou um pequeno preview dos looks que estão para vir. Podemos ver que não vão faltar vestidos luxuosos ao verdadeiro estilo dos anos 20, com cristais, lantejoulas e franjas em tons de esmeralda, jade, topázio e dourado e materiais como veludo e pêlo.

The Great Gatsby is, without question, one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

This Baz Luhrmann film adaptation of the famous romance by F.Scott Fitzgerald is giving everyone much to talk about and is leaving all of us anxious for its premiere this May.

One of the reasons why there’s so much expectation is the high fashion wardrobe created for this feature. For those of you who don’t yet know, Miuccia Prada joined forces with Catherine Martin, the film’s costume designer, to create 40 costumes inspired on past creations by Prada and Miu Miu.

Miuccia Prada has decided to prick up our curiosity a little more and unveiled a small preview of the looks that are coming. One thing is for sure, there will be plenty of luxurious dresses true to the roaring 20’s style, with crystals, beadings and fringes in emerald, jade, topaz and gold tones and luxury materials like fur and velvet.

Para quem achou que eu já não voltava,  tenho a dizer que estavam enganados, não tenho intenção de abandonar este espaço tão cedo.

After over 2 weeks away from the blog, I’m back and ready for a year filled with fashion related news and many others, a year of personal and professional growth, a year filled with posts written with much love and dedication…

My Christmas

É uma altura que adoro, já tinha confessado aqui, mas que infelizmente passa rápido! Por isso nada melhor que tentar prolongá-lo um bocadinho mais e mostrar-vos aqui alguns dos meus presentes num post bem curto e rápido.
