Raf Simons liberates Dior

A Paris Fashion Week continua a trazer-nos das melhores coleções e tendências para a próxima temporada de Primavera 2013.
Raf Simons foi mais um dos designers que apresentou um desfile de cortar a respiração na cidade parisiense.
No seu primeiro desfile de Ready to Wear para a Dior, Simons continua a distanciar-se e a libertar-se da Dior de Galliano. Enquanto este era exuberante e excessivo, Raf Simons prima pelo seu estilo mais minimalista e de uma exuberância e sensualidade mais subtil.
Eu, pessoalmente, identifico-me muito mais com este tipo de coleção e acho que esta mudança foi uma lufada de ar fresco na maison francesa.
Raf Simons inspira-se na herança de Christian Dior e traz de volta as silhuetas do New Look, tal como no seu desfile de Couture, e adapta-as às necessidades da mulher moderna.
Os casacos cintados e em linha A são uma das peças chave da coleção e vão ser, de certeza, um must-have para a próxima temporada.
A Dior, sob a direção de Simons entra numa fase em que as atenções se voltam a focar na roupa e não apenas no espectáculo que pode ser um desfile e isso é verdadeiramente refrescante.


Paris Fashion Week continues to treat us to some of the best collections and trends for the next Spring 2013 season.
Raf Simons was another designer that presented a breathtaking runway show in the Parisian city.
On his Ready to Wear debut show for Dior, Simons continues to detach and liberate himself from Galliano's Dior. While this one was exuberant and excessive, Raf Simons is known for his more minimalist style with touch of a subtle sensuality.
Personally, I identify much more with this type of collection and I think this change was a breath of fresh air to the French maison.
Raf Simons was inspired by Christian Dior's heritage and brings back the New Look silhouettes, like he did on the Couture show, and adapts them to the modern woman needs.
The hourglass and A-line jackets are one of the key pieces of the collection and will, certainly, be a must-have for the upcoming season.
Dior, under Raf Simon's direction is entering a fase where the primal focus is, once again, the clothes and not just the spectacle that a runway show can be and that is really refreshing.

Dior's New Look by Raf Simons

Acabada de voltar das minhas férias não pude deixar de passar por cá e partilhar convosco um momento muito esperado no mundo da moda, o primeiro desfile de Raf Simons para Dior.
Sei que muitos de vocês já o viram e reviram mas tendo em conta a importância deste no mundo da moda e da haute couture não podia deixar de o partilhar.
Todos estavam ansiosos por saber qual iria ser o resultado da união de Simons e Dior, e na minha opinião, este dificilmente poderia ser melhor.
Raf Simons surgiu como uma lufada de ar fresco com a sua simplicidade e extrema elegância, depois dos desfiles "over the top" da era de Galliano em que reinavam os vestidos excessivos e extravagantes.
Resgatando o espírito e a silhueta do New Look que imortalizou Christian Dior, Simons aproximou o haute couture da mulher moderna de uma forma brilhante.

Agora vou-me entreter a ver as novidades nos vossos blogues e depois partilho convosco algumas fotografias da minha estadia na Republica Dominicana.

Just came back from my vacations and I couldn't resist coming here and share with you a much anticipated moment on the fashion world, Raf Simon's debut show for Dior.
I know many of you must have already seen it over and over again, but taking into account its importance on the fashion and haute couture world, I couldn't help but share it.
Everyone was waiting to know what would result from Simons and Dior's union, and in my opinion, it couldn't have been better.
Raf Simons appeared as a breath of fresh air with is simplicity and absolute elegance, after the over the top runway shows from the Galliano era when the extravagant and excessive dresses reigned.
Bringing back Christian Dior's New Look spirit and silhouette, Simons was able to bring haute couture closer to the modern womem in a brilliant way.

Now I'm going to see all the news in your blogs and later I'll share with you some photos from my brief stay in the Dominican Republic.

 

Brigitte Bardot is back for Dior

A Dior trouxe de volta Brigitte Bardot para a campanha do novo perfume Addict.
O fotógrafo Tim Walker (um dos meus fotógrafos preferidos) e o director Jonas Akerlund juntaram-se em Saint Tropez para produzir a nova campanha da marca, onde a adorável Daphne Groeneveld encarna na perfeição o papel de sedutora, reproduzindo cenas do clássico filme de Brigitte Bardot de 1956 "E Deus criou uma mulher" que imortalizou a actriz francesa.
Ao som do hit de Stereo Total "I love you, Ono", a modelo holandesa, dona de uma beleza única, apanha sol numa praia, seduz todos os homens por que passa enquanto passeia pela cidade costeira de tons suaves e dança num café...
É impossível não deixar de sorrir ao ver este vídeo.

Dior brought back Brigitte Bardot for their new fragrance Addict's campaign.
The photographer Tim Walker (one of my favorite photographers by the way)  and the director Jonas Akerlund got together in Saint Tropez to produce the brand's newest campaign, featuring the lovely Daphne Groeneveld playing perfectly the seductive role, reenacting scenes of the classic 1956 Brigitte Bardot movie  "And God created Woman" that immortalized the French actress.
To the sound of Stereo Total hit song "I love you, Ono", the Dutch model, owner of a unique beauty, sunbathes in the beach, seduces every man she passes while walking in a pastel coast city and dances in a bar...
It's impossible not to smile while watching this movie.

Raf Simons on Dior

Para quem não sabe, a saga/ telenovela da Dior chegou finalmente ao fim. Depois de vários rumores, que incluíam nomes como Marc Jacobs, Haider Ackermann e Alber Elbaz, Raf Simons é o novo director criativo da marca.
Depois do trabalho fantástico que fez na Jil Sander, especialmente neste último desfile, Raf Simons vai apresentar a sua primeira coleção para a Dior em Julho, com a coleção de Couture.
Eu tenho que dizer que estou bastante curiosa por ver como vai ser esta mudança para a Dior, e que surpresas ele nos reserva.


For those who don't already know, the Dior saga has finally come to an end. After many rumours, that included names like Marc Jacobs, Haider Ackermann and Alber Elbaz, Raf Simons is the new creative director of the label.
After the fantastic job he made at Jil Sander, especially in this last runway show, Raf Simons is going to present is first collection at Dior in July, with Couture.
I have to say I'm anxious to see how this partnership between the brand and the designer is going to turn out, and what surprises he's planning for us.

O Festival de Cinema de Veneza além de ser um dos mais antigos festivais de cinema do mundo é também uma passarela para os mais conhecidos desfilarem com as ultimas criações dos mais conceituados como Dior aos não tão falados como Mary Katrantzou.
Enquanto filmes que todos esperamos ver, como "A Dangerous Method", "Dark Horse" and "Wuthering Heights", são apresentados, Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Kruger, entre outras, impressionam todos com as suas escolhas de guarda roupa durante o evento. Umas mais "tradicionais" que outras, com os vestidos compridos que sempre vêm associados a estes eventos, mas também algumas escolhas mais atrevidas como Keira Knightley em Mary Katrantzou e Evan Rachel Wood que surpreendeu todos ao usar um fato de Dolce & Gabanna para o photocall de "The Ideas of March".


The Venice Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world but it's also a runway for the famous to walk with the latest designer creations, from the most known like Dior to Mary Katrantzou.
While movies we all wait for, like "A Dangerous Method", "Dark Horse" and "Wuthering Heights", are presented, Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Kruger, among others, impress everyone with their choices throughout the event. Some more "tradicional" than others, with the customary ball gowns and long dresses, but there were also some bold choices like Keira Knightley in Mary Katrantzou and  Evan Rachel Wood who surprised everyone wearing a Dolce and Gabanna suit for "The Ideas of March" photocall.
