Top 10 Fall Trends

As grandes semanas de moda chegaram ao fim, depois de um grande mês de desfiles e novas colecções as tendências para a próxima estação já começam a dar que falar.
A obsessão por estampados da temporada passada continua na temporada de Outono, desta vez em fatos completos estampados capazes de nos pôr com um sorriso na cara, o luxo e a opulência da época de Marie Antoinette estão de volta em peças modernas de tecido brocado e bordados detalhados, e continuando numa tendência super feminina, os elegantes vestidos ajustados ao corpo pelo joelho, "sheath dresses", invadiram os desfiles em todas as cidades dando continuidade ao efeito Kate Middleton,  e num estilo completamente diferente, a inspiração militar também esteve presente em várias colecções especialmente em peças de outerwear, trazendo um toque masculino à temporada.
Também casacos de pêlo continuam a ser tendência mas desta vez em tons mais coloridos e também em pormenores, porque usar só em casacos, quando se pode utilizar nos colarinhos, como peplum ou em detalhes de sweaters.
Outra grande tendência é a pele, couro, mas que agora aparece envernizado, brilhante, numa nova abordagem ao material. E continuando com o brilho, o glitter e lurex voltam esta temporada, mas não só em dourados mas numa gama de tons mais abrangente e saturada.
No que diz respeito a outerwear, os casacos aparecem em proporções oversized, fazendo parecer as modelos pequenas meninas a brincar com as roupas das mães.
O branco neve é uma óptima alternativa ao preto que tanto gostamos de usar no Inverno, e foi uma aposta popular nos desfiles europeus.
Para terminar em grande, os chapéus estiveram por toda a parte nos desfiles da temporada de Outono Inverno, seja num estilo mais excêntrico ou mais simples, era impossível não reparar neles.

The major fashion weeks have come to an end, after a full month of runway shows and new collections next season's trends are already here for us.
The print obsession of last season continued to Fall season, this time in printed suits that lift our moods and put a smile in our faces, the luxury and opulence of Marie Antoinette's era are back in modern pieces made of brocades and detailed embroidery, and sticking to the ultra feminine trend, the elegant curve hugging, knee length sheath dresses invaded the runways in every city continuing the Kate Middleton effect, and in a much different style, the military inspiration was also present in many collections especially in outerwear pieces, bringing a masculine touch to the season.
Fur coats also continue to be a big trend but this time in more colourful tones and in details, why only use it on coats, when you can use it in collars, in a peplum or in details of a sweater.
Another huge trend is leather, but now it appears lacquered, shiny and glossy, on a new approach of the material. And to continue with the shine, glitter and lurex are back this season in a big way, not only in gold but in a more extensive palette of saturated tones.
Talking about outerwear, the coats appear now in oversized proportions, making models look like little girls playing dress up in their mothers' clothes.
The winter white is a great alternative to the black we all love to wear in the cold weather, and was a popular choice in European runway shows.
To top it all, hats were all over the place on the shows this Fall season, whether in a more eccentric style or in a simpler way, it was impossible not to notice them.

Tenho que dizer que a primeira coisa que me ocorreu à cabeça mal vi este desfile da Louis Vuitton foi o filme de Martin Scorcese "Hugo", talvez por o ter visto a semana passada, mas sem dúvida todo o ambiente de estação, com o comboio a chegar, os homens de uniforme a transportarem as malas, a atitude das "personagens", e mesmo o tipo de vestuário apesar de serem retratadas épocas diferentes, me levaram de volta ao mundo mágico em que somos transportados também no filme.
Marc Jacobs continua a surpreender com os seus desfiles, depois do desfile genial da temporada passada num carrossel, desta vez somos transportados para a época de finais de séc XIX, início do séc XX, levando-nos às origens da marca com as malas de viagem.
Com tudo pensado ao pormenor, desde os convites como etiquetas de bagagem ao set a imitar uma verdadeira estação de comboios, uma por uma as modelos saem do comboio, cada uma seguida de um bagageiro a carregar as suas malas e carteiras LV oversized e de tecidos exóticos.
A colecção é detalhada e ornamentada luxuosamente, com brocados, jóias e cristais bordados a casacos e vestidos de silhueta alongada, composta por várias camadas e finalizada com luxuosos chapéus de Stephen Jones. As saias acentuam as cinturas estreitas e são usadas por cima de calças cigarrette.
Este desfile não representa apenas as roupas, é simbólico, Marc Jacobs aqui não vende apenas o vestuário ao público mas a fantasia em si.

I have to say that the first thing that came to my mind the minute I saw this Louis Vuitton runway show was the Martin Scorcese movie "Hugo", maybe because I just saw it last week, but there's no doubt that with the whole train station environment, with the train arriving, the men with uniforms carrying the bags, the "characters" attitude, and even the type of clothing although they represent different times, I was transported back into that magic world that we're taken on the movie.
Marc Jacobs never seizes to amaze us with his shows, after last season's breath taking runway show in a carousel, this time we're carried to the turn of the century, the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, to the house's travel luggage origins.
With everything thought to the last detail, from the invitations that were luggage tags to the set simulating a real train station, one by one the models de-boarded the train, each of them followed by a porter carrying their oversized LV bags with exotic fabrics.
The collection is luxuriously detailed and ornate, with brocades, with shiny jewels and crystals embroidered onto coats and dresses in an elongated silhouette, created by layering and topped with Stephen Jones squashed hats. Skirts accentuate a narrow waist and are worn over cigarette pants.
This show doesn't represent only clothes, it's symbolic, Marc Jacobs is not selling only clothes here, is selling the fantasy around it.

After Raf Simons, Pilati leaves YSL

Como já tinha anunciado no post sobre a última colecção de Raf Simons para Jil Sander, também Stefano Pilati está de saída da Yves Saint Laurent.
Depois de no ano passado Galliano ser dispensado de Dior, da saída de Christophe Decarnin de Balmain e de Carine Roitfeld da Vogue Paris, este ano parece estar também cheio de surpresas e mudanças.
Stefano Pilati tem sido director criativo da YSL desde 2004 e ontem, dia 5 de Março, apresentou a sua última colecção para a marca na Paris Fashion Week.
As modelos aparecem em desfile com o cabelo puxado atrás e de lábios vermelhos escuros, num estilo vampíresco. De tons maioritariamente escuros, negro, vermelho e verde escuro, cinzas e um par de brancos, e de silhueta a relembrar os anos 80 de ombros alargados e cinturas estreitas, esta colecção mostra-nos lado negro da Yves Saint Laurent.
Um grande adeus de um grande criador, resta-nos esperar para ver o que fará em seguida.
Quanto ao próximo director criativo da YSL, rumores apontam para Hedi Slimane, fotógrafo e ex designer das colecções de homem da marca. Veremos se os rumores se confirmam.


Has I already announced on the post about Raf Simons exit from Jil Sander, also Stefano Pilati is saying goodbye to Yves Saint Laurent.
After last year Galliano being dismissed from Dior, Christophe Decarnin leaving Balmain and Carine Roitfeld Vogue Paris, this year is starting to be another eventful and full of surprises year.
Stefano Pilati has been creative director of YSL since 2004 and yesterday, March 5th, he showed his last collection for the brand on Paris Fashion Week.
The models appear on the runway with the hair slicked back and with blood red lips, in a vampiric style. With mostly dark tones, black, dark red and green, grey and a pair of whites, and a 80's silhouette with broad shoulders and singed waists, this collection shows us a darker side of Yves Saint Laurent.
A great goodbye by a great creator, we just have to wait to see what's next for him.
And as for the next creative director of YSL, rumours point to Hedi Slimane, photographer and ex designer of the menswear collections of the brand. Let's see if the rumours are confirmed.

Raf Simons' last show for Jill Sander

Sei que provavelmente já devem ter visto este desfile noutros blogs mas não podia deixar de o partilhar convosco aqui.
Raf Simons apresentou na semana passada em Milão a sua última colecção para Jil Sander, e pode-se dizer que deixou a marca no seu auge, sendo este um dos seus melhores desfiles na minha opinião.
A paleta de cores passou dos pastéis com suaves rosas a azuis marinhos até chegar ao preto. A colecção foi marcada pelos inúmeros casacos de silhueta volumosa a contrastar com os vestidos mais ajustados a celebrar o corpo da mulher, com cortes e color block pastel a contornar o corpo.
Um desfile merecedor de um aplauso geral de pé em que ninguém descansou até Simons voltar a passarela visivelmente emocionado.
Vai ser difícil superar esta última colecção mas vamos ver o que Jil Sander, ao voltar à marca com o seu nome, nos vai trazer de novo.
Quanto a Raf Simons, não sei qual vai ser o seu próximo passo no mundo da moda mas vou estar a seguir com atenção.

Além da saída de Raf Simons de Jil Sander, Stefano Pilati também dirá o seu adeus a Yves Saint Laurent no seu último desfile para a marca no dia 5 de Março em Paris. Parece que vai ser mais um ano de grandes mudanças no mundo da moda.


I know that you probably must have already saw this show on other blogs but I couldn't help to share it with you here.
Raf Simons presented his last collection for Jil Sander last week in Milan, and it's clear that he left the brand the best way possible as this runway show was definitely one of his best in my opinion.
The colour palette began in pastel with soft pinks and evolved to navy blues and red until reaching black. The collection was marked by voluminous coats that contrasted with the body conscious, fitted dresses, with cuts and pastel color blocking that contoured the body.
A runway show that deserved a standing ovation and where nobody stopped cheering and clapping until Simons re-entered the runway overwhelmed by emotion.
It's going to be hard to top this last collection, the stakes are high, but let's see what Jil Sander, returning to the brand with her name, will bring new.
As for Raf Simons, I don't know what is next step in the fashion industry will be but I'm going to follow him with attention.

Additionally to the exit of Raf Simons from Jil Sander, also Stefano Pilati will  say is final goodbye to Yves Saint Laurent on his last runway show for the brand on March 5th in Paris. It seems like it's going to be another eventful and full of changes year for the fashion world.
