Como prometido no post anterior, hoje este é dedicado às
minhas férias de Verão deste ano em Samaná, na Republica Dominicana, com um
pequeno review da zona e hotel e algumas fotos.
Não é a minha primeira visita a esta ilha, já estive também
em Punta Cana, mas desta vez, com viagem marcada 2 dias antes de ir, fomos
conhecer uma zona diferente.
Um pouco mais ventosa que Punta Cana mas, na minha opinião,
com uma praia mais bonita, Samaná é uma zona que aconselho para quem quer
passar uns dias com calor e um mar maravilhoso a 28º graus. Apesar do tempo ter
estado, também lá, um bocado incerto, tanto chuvia como fazia sol, uma coisa
era permanente, o calor, quer de dia, quer de noite!
O hotel onde fiquei foi o Bahia Principe El Portillo, um 5
estrelas que eu considero mais como sendo de 4, bom mas nem de perto tão bom
como outros em que já fiquei, como o Majestic em Punta Cana ou o Bahia Principe
Tulum no México.
Os espaços comuns eram agradáveis, amplos e limpos, a comida
e a fruta boa (adoro o pequeno almoço de hotel), a praia maravilhosa, o staff
muito simpático. Os aspectos menos bons, a meu ver, seriam a piscina pequena
para um resort daquela dimensão (que sinceramente a mim não me fez diferença já
que passei os dias na praia), a animação era a mais fraca que já vi num hotel
deste tipo e, por fim, o estado de conservação e limpeza dos quartos (pelo
menos no caso do meu) que deixavam um pouco a desejar tendo em conta que era um
hotel 5 estrelas.
Mas no final, e somando tudo, foi uma viagem óptima com um
cenário incrível.

As I
promised on the previous post, today this one is dedicated to this year’s
vacations on Samaná, Dominican Republic, with a brief review of the area and
the hotel and some photos.
It’s not my
first visit to this island, I’ve already been to Punta Cana, but this time,
with a trip booked just two days before, we ended up visiting a different part.
A bit more
windy than Punta Cana, but in my opinion with a much more beautiful beach,
Samaná is a place I recommend to everyone who wants to spend a few days in a
hot weather and wonderful sea with water at 28º. Although the weather was
somewhat uncertain, it rained and then it was sun, one thing was constant, the
heat, day and night!
The hotel I
stayed in was Bahia Principe El Portillo, a 5 star that I consider more as a 4,
it was good but by far not as good as some resorts I stayed before like
Majestic in Punta Cana and Bahia Principe Tulum in Mexico.
The common
spaces were nice, comfortable and clean and the food and fruit was good (those
breakfasts kill me, I love them), the beach was beautiful and the staff really
nice. The less positive aspects were, in my opinion, the pool which was too
small for a resort of that size (for me it didn’t make a difference since I was
always at the beach), the animation was the poorest I’ve ever seen on a resort
like that and, last but not least, the conservation and cleanness of the rooms
(at least mine) that wasn’t so good for a 5 star hotel.
But all
things considered it was a great trip with a beautiful scenario.
