A New York Fashion Week terminou ontem, no mesmo dia da nossa Fashion Night Out, e sem dúvida que deixou muita gente a suspirar pelas novas coleções.
Antes de concentrar as minhas atenções na London Fashion Week decidi partilhar convosco 3 das minhas coleções preferidas da NYFW. Confesso que a tarefa de escolher 3 foi muito difícil pois houve muitas outras coleções que me chamaram a atenção, mas estas 3 foram as que vi e que não consegui tirar da cabeça.
The New York Fashion Week ended yesterday, the same day as our Fashion Night Out here in Portugal, and without a doubt that left many people sighing over the new collection.
So before focusing all my attentions on London Fashion Week I decided to share with you 3 of my favourite collection from NYFW. I have to admit that it was a hard task choosing only 3 since there were many other collections that captured my attention, but these 3 were the ones that I saw and couldn't take them out of my mind.

O designer Jason Wu fugiu um pouco da sua zona de conforto neste desfile Primavera 2013, com uma coleção que joga com o contraste entre a sensualidade e a inocência duma forma brilhante.
A inspiração do designer nas fotografias de Helmut Newton e de
Lillian Bassman é visível, tanto na maquilhagem de lábios vermelhos das modelos
como nas peças onde o nude e o preto predominam, e onde renda e pele se tornam
nos melhores aliados, dando origem a uma coleção que combina a provocação com a
sofisticação e elegância.
The
designer Jason Wu has come a little out of his comfort zone in this Spring 2013
show, with a collection that plays brilliantly with the contrast between
sensuality and innocence.
The
designer’s inspiration on Helmut Newton and Lillian Bassman’s photos is notable,
on the models’ red lips make up and on the pieces themselves, where nude and
black are predominant, and where lace and leather become the best allies, which
ultimately resulted in a collection that combines provocation with
sophistication and elegance.

Um elemento que define bem esta coleção de Primavera 2013 da
BCBG Max Azria é o arnês em pele, que confere um grande sex-appeal aos looks
apresentados.
Uma dupla de designers que, como Jason Wu, retiraram
inspiração nas fotografias de Helmut Newton.
A paleta de cores centra-se em tons neutros como o branco,
negro e creme e alguns apontamentos de coral, enquanto muitas das peças
combinam materiais como renda, chambray e seda estampada, além das tiras de
pele, o que poderia tornar-se confuso mas, neste caso, funcionou na perfeição.
The element
that clearly defines this Spring 2013 BCBG Max Azria collection is the leather
harness, that gives the presented looks serious sex-appeal.
A designer
duo that, as Jason Wu, was inspired by Helmut Newton’s iconic photographs.
The colour
palette is centred in neutral tones like white, black and cream and some coral
in the midst, while many of the pieces combine materials like lace, chambray
and printed silk, besides the leather straps, which could have become confusing
but, in this case, worked brilliantly.

A nova coleção para a Primavera 2013 de Phillip Lim leva-nos
de volta ao grunge dos anos 90, com as camisas atadas na cintura e o ar
descontraído, tudo ao estilo de uma Courtney Love moderna.
O “cut-up”, técnica literária do Dadaísmo em que se constrói
algo para destruir e voltar a montar de uma forma diferente, foi utilizado
nesta coleção até à exaustão, com prints e tecidos cortados e cosidos de novo
em diferentes combinações.
O resultado, uma coleção com um estilo mais urbano de rua em
que vestidos floridos, transparências e sobreposição de camadas surgem com uma
boa dose de atitude.
The new
Phillip Lim’s collection for Spring 2013 takes us back to the 90’s grunge, with
shirts tied to the waist and a laid back attitude, everything reminding a
modern day Courtney Love.
The “cut-up”,
a literary technique from the Dadaist movement where you built something to
destroy it and then assemble it a different way, was used till the exhaustion
in this collection, with prints and fabrics cut up and then sewed in different
combinations.
The result,
a collection much more urban street style where floral dresses, sheer, and layering
appears with a good dose of attitude.
