Carine Roitfeld's Inspiration for CR Fashion Book First Issue

Após meses de espera e muita antecipação, ontem foi lançado o site CR Fashion Book.
Com a carta de editora, Carine Roitfeld explica a inspiração por trás desta primeira edição. Não é uma nova tendência nem nada relacionado directamente com moda mas sim algo que lhe tocou pessoalmente, a gravidez da sua filha, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, cuja fotografia da mesma a mostrar a barriga, vestindo apenas um casaco de pele desapertado, aparece a acompanhar a carta de editora na versão online da revista.
Deste modo, este primeiro número da revista centra-se no nascimento, na gravidez e na família, mas com o toque irreverente que faz parte da assinatura de Carine, como é possível ver nas imagens que já se encontram disponíveis.
Com esta revista, Carine Roitfeld pretende mostrar novos talentos, e homenagear lendas e ícones de moda, tudo com muito humor, encanto e uma boa dose de atrevimento.
Agora resta esperar ansiosamente que a revista saia nas bancas dia 13 de Setembro.

After months of waiting and of much anticipation,  the website CR Fashion Book was launched yesterday.
On the editor's letter, Carine Roitfeld explains her inspiration behind this first new issue. It's not a new trend or even anything directly related to fashion, instead it's something that speaks to her personally, her daughter's pregnancy. Julia Restoin Roitfeld's photo pregnant, holding her belly and wearing only an unzipped leather jacket, appears accompanying the online version of the editor's cover letter.
Consequently, the magazine's first issue has as a theme the birth and rebirth, pregnancy and family, but with a dash of irreverence that is already part of Carine's signature, as we can see on the images already available.
With this magazine, Carine Roitfeld intends to showcase new talents, and make a tribute to the fashion legends and icons, all with humour, grace and a good dose of boldness.
Now we just have to wait anxiously until September 13 for the magazine to hit the stands.

Today I'm going to share with you my new article for Nstyle Magazine.  

Carine Roitfeld não deixa de surpreender. Depois da sua saída da Vogue Paris, foram inúmeras as colaborações com marcas, designers e fotógrafos, incluindo o fabuloso livro e exposição em conjunto com Karl Lagerfeld, da Chanel “The Little Black Jacket”, até que há uns meses atrás anunciou o lançamento da sua nova revista, CR Fashion Book.

Esta revista bianual será lançada dia 13 de Setembro deste ano, uma data muito aguardada por todos os interessados na Moda.

Roitfeld promete uma revista sempre irreverente e diferente das restantes publicações e, é isso mesmo que podemos ver na primeira fotografia da tão antecipada revista. Fotografada por Sebastian Faena, a modelo Juliet Ingleby aparece num cemitério usando apenas um véu cor de lavanda a flutuar com o vento e acessórios vermelhos, seguida por três modelos ao verdadeiro estilo viúvas-negras, uma imagem provocante que só poderia vir da mente da ex editora da Vogue Paris.

Resta esperar por Setembro para ver o que mais nos trará de novo este génio da moda, Carine Roitfeld.

Carine Roitfeld never seizes to amaze. After her depart from Vogue Paris, there were numerous collaborations with brands, designers and photographers, including the fabulous book and exhibition alongside Karl Lagerfeld, for Chanel "The Little Black Jacket", until a few months ago she announced the launch of her new magazine, CR Fashion Book.
This semi-annual magazine will be launched on September 13th, this year, a date anxiously awaited by everyone who's interested in fashion.
Roitfeld promises a magazine that's always edgy and different from other publications and, that's exactly what we can see on the first photo from the much anticipated magazine. Shot by Sebastian Faena, model Juliet Ingleby appears on a graveyard wearing only a flowy lavender veil and  red accessories, followed closely by three minions styled as the black widows, a provocative image that could only come from the mind of the ex Vogue Paris editor-in-chief.
Now we only have to wait for September to see what else will this fashion genius that is Carine Roitfeld will bring new.

Os CFDA Awards são os grandes prémios da industria da moda, onde designers, imprensa e ícones de moda são reconhecidos pelo seu trabalho e influência.
Modelos, designers, actores, actrizes, amigos e conhecidos vestiram-se a rigor e juntaram-se no Lincoln Center em Nova Iorque para uma noite a celebrar o que há de melhor na moda.

If in February we pay an homage to the movie industry with the Oscars, in June the honored one is fashion!
The CFDA Awards are the greatest recognition of the fashion industry, where designers, press and fashion icons are acknowledged for their work and influence.
Models, designers, actors, actresses, friends and people from the industry put on their best outfits and got together at the Lincoln Center in New York for a night of celebration of what's best on the fashion world.

Met Ball 2012 Favourites

Ontem à noite, enquanto por aqui, no Porto, se ia à Queima da Fitas, em Nova Iorque juntavam-se as maiores personalidades da moda e não só num dos mais aguardados eventos do ano, o Met Ball.
Este evento organizado pela Vogue e a sua "Queen Bee", Anna Wintour, teve como tema este ano Elsa Schiaparelli e Miuccia Prada, em honra a estes dois grandes nomes da moda italiana.
A marca Schiaparelli, que com a sua fundadora Elsa Schiaparelli revolucionou o mundo da moda, unindo arte e moda, vai voltar à vida ainda no final deste ano, depois de ter estado fechado desde 1954.
Mas voltando ao Met Ball, muitos foram os vestidos deslumbrantes (alguns nem tanto) que passaram pela red carpet, e eu deixo-vos aqui os meus favoritos.

Last night, while in here, in Porto, people were going to Queima das Fitas (a week of university parties), in New York the biggest fashion personalities and more got together to attend one of the greatest events of the year, the Met Ball.
This event, hosted by Vogue and its "Queen Bee", Anna Wintour, had as a theme this year Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, honoring these two great names of the italian fashion.
The Schiaparelli house, that with its founder Elsa Schiaparelli redefined the fashion world, uniting art and fashion, is coming back to life later this year, after being closed since 1954.
But back to the Met Ball, many were the stunning (and some not that stunning) dresses that passed through the red, and I'm going to leave you here some of my favourites.

Chanel's Little Black Jacket

Além do "Little Black Dress", outra das icónicas criações da Chanel é o "Little Black Jacket", e é este último que está a ser agora imortalizado numa exposição online (e também exposição ao vivo em Tóquio), onde mais de 100 celebridades da moda, música, cinema como Sarah Jessica Parker, Elle e Dakota Fanning, Jane Birkin e Anna Wintour se deixaram fotografar a usar o clássico casaco preto da Chanel, cada um à sua maneira. Uns num estilo mais clássico, outros num estilo mais rocker ou até mais artístico.
Este projecto do multifacetado Karl Lagerfeld em colaboração com Carine Roitfeld vai também estar disponível em livro a partir de Abril, e depois de ver estas fotos até eu fiquei com vontade de o juntar à minha colecção.
Deixo-vos aqui algumas das minhas preferidas.


Besides the "Little Black Dress", another of Chanel's most iconic creations is  the "Little Black Jacket", and this last is now being immortalized on a "e-exhibition" (and also on a live exhibition in Tokyo), where more than a 100 celebrities from fashion, cinema and music like Sarah Jessica Parker, Elle and Dakota Fanning, Jane Birkin and Anna Wintour let themselves be photographed wearing the classic Chanel black jacket, each one wearing it their own unique way. Some in a more classic style, others in a rocker vibe or even in a more artistic way.
This project by the multi-task man himself, Mr Karl Lagerfeld  and styled by the one and only Carine Roitfeld was also compiled into a book that is coming on sale in April, and I have to say after seeing the photos even I am eager to add it to my collection.
