Raf Simons on Dior

Para quem não sabe, a saga/ telenovela da Dior chegou finalmente ao fim. Depois de vários rumores, que incluíam nomes como Marc Jacobs, Haider Ackermann e Alber Elbaz, Raf Simons é o novo director criativo da marca.
Depois do trabalho fantástico que fez na Jil Sander, especialmente neste último desfile, Raf Simons vai apresentar a sua primeira coleção para a Dior em Julho, com a coleção de Couture.
Eu tenho que dizer que estou bastante curiosa por ver como vai ser esta mudança para a Dior, e que surpresas ele nos reserva.


For those who don't already know, the Dior saga has finally come to an end. After many rumours, that included names like Marc Jacobs, Haider Ackermann and Alber Elbaz, Raf Simons is the new creative director of the label.
After the fantastic job he made at Jil Sander, especially in this last runway show, Raf Simons is going to present is first collection at Dior in July, with Couture.
I have to say I'm anxious to see how this partnership between the brand and the designer is going to turn out, and what surprises he's planning for us.

Este é um post curto, só mesmo para actualizar.
Antes de mais desculpem a ausência, fui passar uns dias ao Algarve, a Páscoa e o meu aniversário, num hotel muito bom à beira rio, perto de Portimão. Pois é, exactamente no domingo de Páscoa fiz 24 anos, até custa acreditar. Por isso, não havia melhor altura do que esta para mudar um bocadinho de ambiente, nem que seja ao ir um pouco mais para sul.
Tanto pensei que estava mau tempo que nem uma t-shirt levei (mas recebi de prenda depois), mas acabei por levar um biquíni só para prevenir, e ainda bem! Dia de aniversário passado ao sol na piscina, nada mal.
Quanto ao aniversário, e à mudança de idade em si, sinto-me exactamente na mesma claro, ainda há tanto para concretizar, para viver, conhecer...
Espero que este ano traga muitas surpresas (boas) e mudanças, vamos ver se alguns dos meus desejos do inicio de ano que partilhei aqui se concretizam.


This is a really short post, just an update.
Sorry for the absence here, I was in Algarve for a few days, for Easter and my birthday, in a beautiful hotel by the river. That's right, exactly on Easter Sunday I turned 24, it's a little hard to believe. So, there was no better time than that to change sceneries for a while, even if it was only a little bit to the south of the country.
I was so convinced that we were going to get crappy weather there that I didn't even pack a t-shirt or top (but I got two as gifts later), but I packed a bikini just in case, and good thinking! Birthday afternoon spent in the pool sunbathing, not bad at all.
As for the birthday, and change of age, I feel exactly the same of course, there's still so much to accomplish, to see, to live...
I hope this year brings many surprises (good ones) and changes, let's see if some of my wishes from the beginning of the year that I talked here come true.

The New Generation

Hoje decidi mostrar-vos mais um dos meus trabalhos do ano passado, quando andava a tirar o mestrado de Styling em Barcelona.
Este shooting foi o único que fizemos em aula, e em que não tivemos nós próprios que arranjar os modelos, fotógrafo, maquilhador... como acontecia em todos os outros, o que era óptimo apesar de tudo, porque era uma maneira de aprendermos a desenrascar-nos e, acima de tudo, a ganharmos os nossos próprios contactos.
Tendo um grupo de modelos para fotografar, o conceito era simples, o de um grupo de jovens, ricos, sem preocupações, cada um com o seu estilo individual mas que acabam por se complementar uns aos outros, e em ambiente de festa.
A turma foi dividida em grupos e cada grupo pouco tempo tinha para preparar tudo, vestir os 6 modelos e fotografar, o que torna tudo muito mais dinâmico, eu tenho que dizer que adoro o stress e o ambiente do backstage, tanto dos desfiles como das sessões fotográficas.
Partilhar convosco estes trabalhos passado uns meses faz-me sentir imensas saudades, tanto dos trabalhos, das sessões fotográficas, das pessoas que conheci e, claro, da própria cidade.

Today I decided to show you another one of my projects from last year when I was studying my Styling master in Barcelona.
This shooting was the only one we did in class, and the only one we didn't have to take care of getting models, photographer, make up artist... as it happened in all the others, with was great despite everything, because it was a way of learning how to move around that "world" and, most of all, to gain some contacts of our own.
Having a group of models to work with, the concept was simple, a group of youngsters, rich, with no worries, each one with their own individual style but that in the end they tend to complement one another, and in a party mood.
The class was divided into groups and each group had little time to prepare everything, dress the 6 models and shoot, which makes everything more dynamic, I  have to say I love the rush and the atmosphere of the backstage, whether it is on runway shows or shootings.
Sharing with you this projects after all these months makes me miss it all a lot, the work, the shootings, the people I met and, of course, the city itself.

Men and Style

Este é um post dedicado a homens, uma estreia aqui no blog, em que normalmente as atenções estão viradas para a moda feminina.
Mas eles também merecem crédito e atenção, todas nós gostamos de ver um homem bem vestido, bem vestido nem é a expressão mais correcta já que é um pouco subjectivo, é até mais que isso, um homem com estilo, com charme, com pinta e, por isso decidi que estava na altura de dar um pouco de inspiração masculina, dar alguns exemplos de grande estilo no masculino.
É um post à base de imagens em que poucas palavras são necessárias pois como se costuma dizer uma imagem vale mais que mil palavras. Espero que gostem!


This is a post dedicated to men, a first on the blog, where usually the attention is all on women's fashion.
But they also deserve some credit and attention, after all we all like a well dressed man, although well dressed is not exactly the best expression since it is a little subjective, it's more than that, it's a man with style, charm, a je ne sais quoi  and, because of that I decided it was about time to give a little masculine inspiration, give a few examples of great style in the masculine.
It's a post all about the images where few words are needed, as it is said an image is worth a thousand words. Hope you like it!

Bedroom makeover needed

Já desde que voltei de Barcelona em Agosto que penso no mesmo, fazer uma makeover ao meu quarto. O que devo dizer, é bem difícil tendo em conta que a mobília que lá está tem que ficar, pelo menos a cama, secretária (que é mais uma mesa onde eu pouso tudo e mais alguma coisa) e uma estante que tenho ao lado da cama, que o meu quarto é super pequeno e não posso gastar muito dinheiro.
Esta ideia de remodelar o quarto vem e vai, mas desta vez estou mesmo decidida a fazer alguma coisa e estive a tirar algumas ideias de imagens que andei a ver.
Preciso de mais espaço de arrumação de sapatos mas principalmente de livros, filmes, séries e revistas, já não tenho onde arrumar nada e o resultado é que a minha suposta secretária está cada vez mais atulhada de coisas, são revistas que compro e não tenho onde pôr e não consigo deitar fora, filmes e tralha, muita tralha.
Nas minhas pesquisas, descobri algumas boas ideias de arrumação, DIY's e ideias para decoração que resolvi partilhar convosco.
O que vos parece?

Ever since I came back from Barcelona in August I think about the same thing, doing a makeover on my room. What I must say is a little complicated considering that the furniture has to be the same, at least the bed, office desk (that is more a table where I put everything on top) and a shelf that I have next to my bed, that my room is really small and that I can't spend that much money.
This idea of remodelling my room comes and goes, but this time I'm really committed to it, something I have to do, something has to change, so I've been taking some ideas from images I've been seeing.
I need more storage space for shoes but mostly for books, movies, series and magazines, since I don't have where to store anything and the result is that my supposed desk is every day more and more cluttered, it's magazine I buy and don't have where to put them and can't throw away, movies and junk, lots of it.
On my researches I discovered some great ideas for storage, DIY's and decoration ideas that I decided to share with you.
