Fashion Week . Backstage at New York

Embora a semana da moda de Nova Iorque já tenha acabado e se tenha mudado a capital da moda para Londres durante esta semana, continuo com as algumas fotos do backstage nova iorquino.

Although New York Fashion Week is over now and the fashion capital is now London during this week, I'm still posting some photos of the new yorker backstage.

Fashion Week . The new Lacoste

Como mencionei no post anterior, o designer português Felipe Oliveira Baptista é o novo director criativo da Lacoste e apresentou a sua colecção Primavera Verão 2012 para a marca em Nova Iorque.
Com um estilo mais contemporâneo, que une o chic ao sportswear, Felipe Oliveira Baptista cria uma Lacoste que pode ser usada em várias ocasiões, uma Lacoste que continuando ligada ao estilo desportista vai além disso, com os típicos polos transformados em vestidos de seda, surgem as calças largas fluídas, estampados geométricos, e várias peças de outerwear que não eram antes vistas na marca.
É como uma reconstrução na Lacoste, que se pode ver na colecção em si, como também em cada peça que a constitui.

As I mentioned on the previous post, the portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista is the new creative director at Lacoste and presented is debut collection SS 2012 for the brand in New York.
With a more contemporary style, that unites chic and sportswear, Felipe Oliveira Baptista creates a Lacoste that can be wear in many occasions, a Lacoste that while still linked to the sporty style goes beyond that, with the tradicional polo shirts transformed in silky dresses, with wide leg trousers, geometric prints, and many pieces of outerwear that weren't used before by the brand.
It's like a reconstruction at Lacoste, that can be seen in the whole collection as well as in each piece individually.

Fashion Week . The Streets of NY

Esta semana abriu o novo calendário da moda. A New York Fashion Week marca o inicio de uma nova temporada no mundo da moda.
De 8 a 15 de Setembro a atenção está em Nova Iorque, enquanto 99 talentosos designers mostram as suas criações para a Primavera/ Verão 2012.
Também Portugal esteve representado na passarela nova iorquina com Felipe Oliveira Baptista para a Lacoste hoje.
BCBG, Jason Wu e a marca criada pelas gémeas Olsen The Row já apresentaram as suas colecções com uma boa recepção por parte do público.
Mas além de estarmos à espera das tendências que nos vão ser apresentadas na passarela, todos esperamos também ver o desfile que ocorre fora da passarela, nas ruas de Nova Iorque.
Todos se apresentam num estilo bem pensado, apresentando as tendências em si próprios, desde o look mais clássico a um arriscado blocking color ou misturas de estampados.
Deixo-vos com alguns dos looks vistos até agora.

This week was the grand opening of the new fashion calendar. The New York Fashion Week marks the beginning of a new season on the fashion world.
From September 8th till the 15th all the attention is in New York, while 99 talented designers showcase their SS 2012 collections.
Portugal was also represented on the new yorker runway with Felipe Oliveira Baptista for Lascoste, today.
BCB, Jason Wu and Olsen twins' brand The Row already presented their collections with a great public reaction.
Although we're all waiting for the presentation of the new trends on the runway, we're also all waiting to see what happens out of it, the style that's in the streets of New York.
Everyone comes up with a very well thought style, presenting the trends on themselves, from the classic look to a bold color blocking or mixing prints.

Welcome to Venice

O Festival de Cinema de Veneza além de ser um dos mais antigos festivais de cinema do mundo é também uma passarela para os mais conhecidos desfilarem com as ultimas criações dos mais conceituados como Dior aos não tão falados como Mary Katrantzou.
Enquanto filmes que todos esperamos ver, como "A Dangerous Method", "Dark Horse" and "Wuthering Heights", são apresentados, Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Kruger, entre outras, impressionam todos com as suas escolhas de guarda roupa durante o evento. Umas mais "tradicionais" que outras, com os vestidos compridos que sempre vêm associados a estes eventos, mas também algumas escolhas mais atrevidas como Keira Knightley em Mary Katrantzou e Evan Rachel Wood que surpreendeu todos ao usar um fato de Dolce & Gabanna para o photocall de "The Ideas of March".

The Venice Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world but it's also a runway for the famous to walk with the latest designer creations, from the most known like Dior to Mary Katrantzou.
While movies we all wait for, like "A Dangerous Method", "Dark Horse" and "Wuthering Heights", are presented, Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Kruger, among others, impress everyone with their choices throughout the event. Some more "tradicional" than others, with the customary ball gowns and long dresses, but there were also some bold choices like Keira Knightley in Mary Katrantzou and Evan Rachel Wood who surprised everyone wearing a Dolce and Gabanna suit for "The Ideas of March" photocall.

Depois de um mês afastada do blog, estou de volta com as que eu considero como das melhores capas de revistas do mês de Setembro, um dos meses, se não o mais importante dentro da indústria da moda.

Surgem novas tendência e um novo ciclo começa, é como o começo de um novo ano para stylists, designers, revistas...

Desde a China até Espanha, estas capas mostram-nos vários rostos conhecidos dentro do mundo da moda e representação dos mais novos e frescos como Elle Fanning à aclamada Naomi Campbell.

Capas para todos os gostos, mais excêntrico e provocador como a capa da V Spain com um toque de Carine Roitfeld, mais jovem e irreverente com a fotografia de Terry Richardson para a I-D e vulnerável e emotiva como as variadas capas da revista LOVE deste mês.

After a month apart from the blog, I'm back with what I consider some of the best fashion magazine covers of this month. September, one of the most, if not the most important month in the fashion industry. New trends emerge and a new cycle begins, it's like the beginning of a new year for stylists, designers, magazines...

From China to Spain, these covers show us many known faces from the fashion and celebrity world, the young and fresh like Elle Fanning to the well known and fashion veteran Naomi Campbell.

Covers for all tastes, eccentric and provocative like the cover with a touch from Carine Roitfeld for V Spain, young and irreverent with Terry Richardson's photo for I-D and even vulnerable and emotive like the covers for LOVE magazine this month.
